Minutes of Executive Committee Meeting
Craster Memorial Hall, Thursday 26th Nov. 2009
This meeting was held in open session. The following members of the public were present: Marjory Taylor, Mr & Mrs Shaw, Mr & Mrs Riddle, Brian Chambers.
Present: Alex Ainslie, Hilary Punton, Keith Hobbs, John Gallon, Michael Craster, Jennifer Doherty & Fyona Robson.

Apologies for absence were received from Kevin Brown & Pauline Baird.
2. Minutes of the meeting held 10 th September 2009.
These were agreed as a true record and signed by the Chairman.
3. Matters Arising.
Computer – No developments.
Parking – P.C. Roxy Bird has reported back that on two recent visits to the village there were no parking problems noted. It was suggested that the foliage be cut back around the signs at the entrance to the village notifying the public of no public parking beyond this point.
Northumbrian Water – The special parliamentary process has now been gone through and Northumbrian Water can commence work. As yet Northumbrian Water have not signed licences with George White but are promising to do so. There will initially be a small amount of work undertaken along Dunstanburgh Road. Dunstan works will commence first with work in Craster village scheduled to commence autumn 2010.
Mobile telephone petition – At a Northumberland County Council Northern Area Committee meeting held on 14 th September members agreed,
That the petition be received.
That representations be made at various levels by the Committee on the petitioner’s behalf to organisations such as AONB and Northumberland Tourism and Regeneration.
A letter has also been received from Northumberland Tourism giving their support for extending mobile reception to Craster.
The Parish Council is writing to Sir Alan Beith to ask for his support.
Playground – No further deterioration noted. Pauline Baird and Kevin Brown to complete funding application.
Amalgamation CCDT & Memorial Hall Trust – At the Community Meeting on 21 st October it was agreed that the prepared constitution be adopted, (see minutes attached). The amended constitution was submitted to the Charities Commission which has replied with 1 or 2 points to simplify the process of amalgamation. These will need to be circulated to obtain approval of the Charities Commission revision. Michael Craster to progress this with the hope that the new constitution will be in place by early January 2010.
The Journal gave coverage to the press release sent out by John Gallon.
History Society Projector – Peter Howard sent a letter thanking the CCDT for its grant and for making the loan that enabled the purchase to go ahead. The loan agreement ends on the 31 st December 2009.
4. Using Village Website.
John Gallon submitted a paper outlining better use of the village website space. (see attached document).
Following discussions it was agreed that the CCDT should take over the existing “We Can Mind The Time” website and transfer it to the trust’s hosting package at a cost of £2.99/annum. The trust should also offer to host the Local History Group website at a cost of £2.99/annum. Following discussions Trustees and members of the public present also agreed that it would be better to have www.crastercommunity.co.uk as a website address as this would better represent Craster and the surrounding communities of Dunstan and Howick.

6. Any other Business.
Michael Craster announced that a Christmas Bingo to raise Memorial Hall Funds was organised for Monday 21 st December at 7.30 p.m. in Memorial Hall. Joyce Shaw volunteered to help.
Michael Craster asked, “ How do we make the new trust bring in the whole village?” Following discussions it was agreed that the new trust should organise something and Michael asked that thought be given as to what this should be and include this topic as an agenda item at the next meeting.
Hilary asked about the Christmas tree. The Parish Council is dealing with it this year.
Brian Chambers raised from the floor that he felt Northumbrian Water’s recent correspondence was misleading in that they refer to waste water and not sewerage which he believes it technically is.
Marjory Taylor asked from the floor if the harbour was to have the Light Show as last year. Response “no” as the company moves around the county.
